Green CleanThe eco friendly way to dryclean

Urban
Valet takes environmental issues seriously. We work hard to reduce our
carbon footprint. Below you'll see the steps we've taken as part of
our GreenClean program to protect our environment, our local community,
our customers, and our employees.

July 2010 - Reusable Garment Bags: Urban Valet begins phasing out the use of plastic dry cleaning bags and becomes the first and only dry cleaner in WNY to offer The Green Garmento reusable garment bag as an alternative. More>>
Water Based Cleaning:
Through investments in education, training, new equipment and European
water based detergents, Urban Valet successfully phasesd out the use of
perclorethylene, the controversial dry cleaning solvent you may have
heard about. Perclorethylene hasbeen classified as a probable
carcinogen by the International Association for Research on Cancer and
a hazardous air pollutant by the Federal Government.
Urban Valet now professionally wet cleans 60% of the clothes we process.

By using a non-toxic, more energy efficient dry cleaning technology, we
are protecting our customers, their families, and our employees from
the health risks associated with exposure to toxic dry cleaning
solvents. Our customers clothes are cleaner, softer, and smell fresh -
not like chemicals.
January 2010 - Package/Hanger Recycling Program:
Urban Valet introduces a comprehensive recycling program. Customers
are encouraged to return all of the items that we use for packaging,
including hangers. When appropriate, we reuse the items. When reuse
is not possible, we recycle them.
Fall 2009 - Warming System:
A warming system is added to Urban Valet's Hamburg Drive-Inside Service
Area. The new system redirects the heat from our boiler room into the
employee and customer area. It was more expensive, but it was a great
way to make use of heat we were already producing.
We are doing our best to be responsible to you and our planet. We live here, too.
